Terms of Service
Effective date: September 27, 2026
The short version
- Kinro is a licensed insurance agency. We compare insurance for your business, but the insurance company issues the policy, sets the price, and decides what it covers.
- A quote is not coverage. You are covered only when the insurance company confirms it, and your policy documents are what count.
- Leo, our AI advisor, answers many questions for us. It can make mistakes, so check anything important with our team before you rely on it.
- Give us accurate and complete information. Wrong or missing details can change your price or put your coverage at risk.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Kinro website at https://kinro.com, our AI advisor, and our insurance services by chat, phone, text, email, or an AI assistant (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Services for a business, you confirm that you may act for that business, and "you" includes the business.
Who we are
"Kinro", "we", "us", and "our" mean Kinro, Inc. and its subsidiaries, including Kinro Insurance Services LLC, a licensed insurance agency (NPN 22233799). Insurance is offered through Kinro Insurance Services LLC, and only in states where it is licensed.
Our services
We help U.S. businesses find and buy commercial insurance. We learn about your business, request quotes from insurance companies, explain the options, and help you apply for, buy, and manage your policies. The Services are free to use unless we tell you about a fee before you agree to pay it.
Quotes and coverage
- The insurance company, not Kinro, decides whether to offer coverage, its price, and its terms.
- A quote is an offer based on the information we have. It can change if the information changes or when the insurance company reviews your application.
- You have coverage only after the insurance company confirms it (binds the policy) and you pay any required premium. Talking to us, getting a quote, or starting an application does not create coverage.
- Your policy documents define what is covered. If anything we say differs from your policy, your policy controls.
- We may send you a checkout link in chat or an AI assistant. When online checkout is available, you complete the purchase on a checkout page from Kinro or the insurance company. Some policies require help from a licensed agent to complete the purchase.
How we are paid
We are usually paid a commission by the insurance company that issues your policy. The commission is included in the premium the insurance company sets. We work with many insurance companies and do not represent only one.
Our AI advisor
Leo is an AI system that answers questions, collects information, and prepares quotes for us. Leo can make mistakes. Its answers are general information about your options, not a promise of coverage, and they do not change your policy. Ask our team if you want to confirm anything important or talk to a licensed agent.
Your responsibilities
- Give us information that is accurate and complete, and tell us when it changes. Insurance companies rely on it. Wrong or missing information can change your price, delay your policy, or lead the insurance company to deny a claim or cancel coverage.
- Review your quotes, applications, and policy documents, and tell us if something is wrong.
- Share only information you are allowed to share, including information about your employees, drivers, or other people.
Using Kinro through AI assistants
You can use Kinro from an AI assistant, such as ChatGPT. The assistant is run by another company under its own terms and privacy policy. It sends your messages to Kinro and shows you our answers, and it may summarize or change them. We are responsible for the answers we send, not for what the assistant says on its own. Do not share Social Security numbers, payment card numbers, or passwords in an AI assistant.
Communications
We communicate with you by chat, email, phone, and text about your insurance request, quotes, applications, policies, and support. We may record and transcribe calls. You can stop emails with the unsubscribe link. Replying STOP to a text stops email, texts, WhatsApp messages, and calls from us, including updates about your insurance request and quotes. You can also tell Leo or our team to stop contacting you.
Mobile messaging terms
When you provide a mobile phone number and expressly opt in, you agree that Kinro may send recurring text messages about your insurance request, quotes, applications, policies, account, and related customer support. Messages may be sent using automated technology. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply.
Marketing text messages, such as coverage tips and offers for additional insurance products, are sent only if you separately and expressly opt in to them, for example by checking the separate optional marketing box on kinro.com/text-updates. Consent to receive marketing text messages is optional, is collected separately from consent to service messages, and is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.
You may opt out at any time by replying STOP. After you send STOP, we may send one confirmation message and will stop further text messages unless you opt in again. Reply HELP for help or contact contact@kinro.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Our handling of your mobile information and messaging consent is described in our Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- give false information or apply for someone without permission;
- reverse engineer the Services, or use them to build a competing product;
- scrape, overload, or interfere with the Services, or get around their limits or security;
- use the Services for anything unlawful or fraudulent.
Intellectual property
Kinro owns the Services, including the website, software, models, content, and brand. These Terms give you permission to use the Services as described here, and nothing more. You may send us feedback, and we may use it without paying you.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and your choices.
Disclaimers
Except for our duties as a licensed insurance agency that the law does not allow us to limit, the website and our tools are provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all other warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Services will always be available or error-free. We do not give legal, tax, or accounting advice.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kinro is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or revenue, even if we were told they were possible. Kinro's total liability for any claim about the Services is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid Kinro in the twelve (12) months before the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, including to our obligations as a licensed insurance agency.
Ending these terms
You can stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or use the Services in a way that could harm Kinro, the insurance companies we work with, or others. Ending these Terms does not cancel a policy you bought. The policy stays in force until it ends or is cancelled under its own terms. The sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law continue after these Terms end.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in San Francisco, California. Your insurance policy may have its own rules for disputes about coverage.
Other agreements
If you have a separate written agreement with Kinro, for example an order form for Kinro's software, that agreement controls where it differs from these Terms. The Referral Program Terms apply to referrals.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a new effective date. If you keep using the Services after that, the updated Terms apply to you.
