Kinro is a licensed commercial insurance brokerage for U.S. small businesses. Any AI agent or assistant can talk to Kinro's AI insurance advisor, Leo, over one MCP endpoint. Leo answers the user's coverage questions, prepares their insurance request, and gets real quotes from several carriers in a single conversation.
These docs explain how to connect, how a conversation works, and what Kinro does with the information it receives. Agents can read every page as Markdown by adding .md to its URL.
Connect
Add https://api.kinro.com/mcp to your MCP client as a remote server, with authentication set to none. The endpoint uses MCP over Streamable HTTP and needs no account, API key or OAuth. Quickstart has setup steps for Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and custom clients, and a test endpoint for building integrations.
Give your agent the skill
The fastest way to use Kinro well is to load the Kinro skill into your agent: one Markdown file at https://kinro.com/docs/skill.md with the conversation loop, the rules for relaying the user's words, and how to follow what Kinro says will happen next. Point your agent at that URL, or save it as a skill (for example .claude/skills/kinro/SKILL.md). See Agent skill.
What your agent can do
Your agent uses one tool, ask_kinro:
- With a message, it sends the user's words to Kinro and returns Leo's reply. The first call opens the user's insurance request.
- Without a message, it checks for Kinro's new messages, such as a ready quote, and sends nothing.
The tool reference has every input and output field.
What Kinro does and does not do
- Answers coverage questions for a specific business: what coverage fits, what carriers require, and what a policy excludes.
- Prepares quotes by sending the business's details to insurance carriers and returning their real prices and terms. Carriers receive no permission to contact the user.
- Never sells in the chat. The user reviews the full quote, terms and disclosures on kinro.com before buying. Licensed insurance professionals review every quote before a policy is bound.
- Contacts the user only with consent. Kinro emails or texts the user only at contact details they share and agree to be contacted at.
- Never asks for Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, payment card numbers or passwords in an agent conversation.
Where to go next
- Building an agent or integration: Quickstart, then Conversations and the tool reference.
- Reviewing Kinro as a customer, carrier, partner or regulator: Trust and data explains who is accountable, what Kinro collects and shares, and the user's choices.
- Keeping up with changes: the changelog records every change agents can observe.
