Insurance planning · Prepare for insurance
Business Tools & Equipment Inventory Builder
An equipment inventory starts with item descriptions, quantities and estimated replacement values. Use it to prepare for an insurance discussion while keeping receipts, photos and serial numbers in your own records.
Equipment inventory builder: interactive worksheet
Your equipment inventory
Illustrative items. Replace them with your own estimates.
Up to 50 items. Keep serial numbers, receipts and identifying details in your own secure records.
Understand the result
The method,
made clear.
Total replacement estimate = sum of item quantity × entered replacement cost. Ownership and usual storage are recorded for discussion; they do not determine insured values or coverage.
Review mobile equipment, trailers, storage locations and transit separately. Do not assume every item belongs under the same coverage.
How to use this tool

Before you rely on the numbers
Assumptions
and limitations.
- Do not enter sensitive identifiers. This worksheet is a preparation aid, not an insurer-approved schedule.
- Actual insured values and claim payments depend on policy terms and valuation.
- Every prefilled number is an illustrative example, not a market average, recommended price, tax rate, or insurance quote.
- Results use only the costs and time you enter. Include owner compensation, insurance and overhead where applicable without counting a cost twice.
- Calculations exclude sales tax and financing unless you include them in your inputs. Round your final customer price deliberately.
From planning to protection
Your next
insurance question.
Bring this inventory to your licensed professional to discuss the property, locations and valuation that may be relevant.
Worksheet inputs are not submitted to a carrier or added to an insurance application. Confirm the facts in the quote form before you submit.
Explore business insurance
Before you rely on any coverage, confirm it suits your business with a licensed insurance professional.
Tell us about your actual business. Available quote paths depend on your work, state, coverage and underwriting information.
Educational information, not a coverage determination. Examples are hypothetical. Policy wording, exclusions and underwriting decide whether coverage applies.
Questions owners ask
